Welcome to my webpage!  To give you a bit of background information, I grew up on a farm south of  Presho, South Dakota.  I am a 1983 graduate of Lyman High School.  After high school,  I went on to earn a  Bachelor’s degree in History Education from the University of South Dakota in 1990. I took my first teaching job in Hecla , South Dakota where I taught social science, computers and coached.  From Hecla, I moved to neighboring Frederick where I remained for three years.  While in Frederick , I earned a Master’s Degree from Northern State University in Secondary School Administration.   After completing my degree, I took my first administrative position as the Secondary Principal for the Sully Buttes School District in Onida South Dakota.  During my first year, I served as principal, athletic director, and coached.  I spent nine years in Onida, serving as Principal, Superintendent, joint Superintendent with the Agar School District and eventually, Superintendent for the newly reorganized Agar-Blunt-Onida School District .  While in Onida, I also earned a Specialist Degree in School District Administration from the University of South Dakota .  Currently, I have served as the Superintendent of the Parkston School District since 2003.

I have three children and a stepson with my wife Molly (2011).  Landry was born in 1998,  Bennett 2001 , and  Liam Shayne in 2002.   Max was born in 2009.    Murphy, our Golden Retriever is 56. I currently serve as the Superintendent for the Parkston School District.  I enjoy spending time with my children,  listening to music, watching football, movies, and antagonizing Murphy.

Little known fact:  During my tenor as a teacher and later administrator, I also found time to coach football.  I served as head coach for the Frederick/Hecla Northstars for three years and for four years as head coach for the Sully Buttes Chargers.  During that time, I won five conference titles, qualified for the state playoffs six times, won two Region Titles and coached my team in the semi-final playoff game twice.  I finished my coaching career with a record of 50-19.
